Regular maintenance provides numerous benefits for your car. It improves safety, increases fuel efficiency, and extends its life. As your Buick GMC dealer, we want to tell you about some of the GMC maintenance we can perform to enable your vehicle to always work at its best.

Examples of GMC Maintenance Available at Your Buick GMC Dealer

Tune-Up

As time passes, wear and tear can reduce your GMC’s performance. You might feel a lack of power from your engine, or your fuel efficiency might go down. The cure for many of these issues is a tune-up. This process involves checking various engine systems and repairing, adjusting, or replacing various components to improve engine performance and efficiency.

Components like the spark plugs, plug wires, and ignition coils are checked and replaced if necessary. Our technicians will examine and replace your engine air filter, cabin air filter, and fuel filter. These filters can become blocked, which increases wear on engine components and can lead to additional damage. A tune-up is inexpensive and pays dividends in better engine performance, a smoother ride, and decreased trips to the pump.

Oil Change

Oil is probably the second most important fluid in your vehicle after fuel. It lubricates a multitude of engine parts, reducing damage and allowing them to work faster. The fast-moving oil has a cooling effect on your engine as it circulates. It also reduces rust formation and prevents the build-up of dirt and other debris that could cause engine blockages.

The first step in an oil change is to drain the old oil. Our technicians will also test its quality, as this can reveal latent issues in your engine. If a problem is detected, we’ll let you know and we can repair it. If all is well, we remove the old oil filter and install a new one. We then refill your engine with the correct grade of high-quality oil.

Radiator Flushing

The radiator is the centerpiece of your car’s cooling system. Potentially damaging engine heat is absorbed by coolant and transported to the radiator. The hot coolant enters the radiator tubes and is rapidly cooled by the inflow of cooler air through the radiator grille. The coolant also absorbs dirt and other debris as it moves, and it deposits the debris at the bottom of the radiator as it exits the radiator.

As time passes, debris will accumulate, and it can block the radiator. This reduces the ability to remove heat, and your engine temperature will. We fix this problem by draining the old coolant, then we add new coolant and a conditioner. This mixture circulates through the cooling system and breaks down any blockages. We then drain this mixture and refill your engine with fresh coolant.
